MEDIA FILL VALIDATION IN A SEMI AUTOMATED BETA LACTAM INJECTABLE MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the efficacy of the sterilization process used in the production of beta lactam sterile injectables in a manufacturing facility. To achieve this objective, a total of 6 media fill validation runs were executed using different container closure systems over a period of several months. The media fill validation runs were performed using a risk-based approach and the actual results were compared to established acceptance criteria to determine the effectiveness of the sterilization process. Additionally, statistical analysis of the results was performed to assess the distribution and variability of the data, and to provide a basis for making informed decisions about the quality and safety of the final product. The results of the study showed that the sterilization process used in the production of beta lactam sterile injectables was effective, with the majority of the media fill validation runs meeting the established acceptance criteria. The study emphasized the importance of regularly performing media fill validation trials to ensure the quality and safety of sterile injectable products in a manufacturing facility. The results provide valuable insights into the performance of the sterilization process and the overall quality of the final product, and can be used to make informed decisions about the quality and safety of beta lactam sterile injectables in a manufacturing setting. This study contributes to the field of pharmaceutical quality control and provides practical insights for practitioners and researchers in the field.
