Examining the Effects of Work–Life Balance on Employee Retention Among Women Professionals in Hybrid Work Settings: A Study of the Delhi-NCR IT Sector
Abstract
This study examines the influence of work–life balance on employee retention among women professionals working in hybrid IT environments in Delhi-NCR. With the growing adoption of hybrid work arrangements, women employees often face challenges in balancing professional responsibilities with personal and family commitments. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, and data were collected from 400 women professionals working in hybrid roles across Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida using a structured questionnaire. The instrument measured demographic characteristics, work–life balance, and employee retention using a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed through reliability testing, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings reveal that work–life balance has a significant positive impact on employee retention. Flexible work arrangements, supportive organizational practices, and effective work-life integration contribute to higher retention intentions and workforce sustainability. The study provides valuable insights for organizations aiming to strengthen employee retention and enhance the workplace experience of women professionals in hybrid work settings.
